Activity: Snowman Scramble
You will need–a Hat, scarf, gloves and over-sized jacket for each team.
Divide the players into teams. Try to make the teams as even as possible in ability.
Place a pile of “snowman clothes” opposite each team. At the signal, the players race to the pile of clothes and pick one player as the snowman. The other players must then dress the snowman in all the articles of clothing. The snowman is not allowed to help at all! When the snowman is dressed he runs back to you. The team with the first completely dressed snowman ot ereach you wins.
Extra Idea: Make a carrot nose for each snowman. Cut a quarter circle out of orange poster board. Make a hole in each side and string elastic through. Nose should only be worn by one snow man (no sharing). Noses could be made ahead of time as a craft project.

Allow everthing to dry then trim off the bottom of the glove and thumb. Glue a one inch wid stip of whhite felt around the bottom the keep it from fraying.Remove the plastic wrap from the fingers. You are now ready to put them on and have a puppet show.
Decoration: White pillar candles can be decorated with paint to look like snowmen. An arrangement of different sizes makes a nice centerpiece.
Food: It seems like three of anything that is white can be made into a snowman. A popular one is using marshmallows and decorating with candies. I thought of using three scoops of cottage cheese and using a carrot for the nose and other veggies for other parts. I also thought of using there heads of cauliflower. Cut off stem so that pieces can be easily separated for snacking. Decorations could be similar to the cottage cheese. The food I chose is popcorn balls. You Can use your favorite recipe or you can go to www.cooks.com and get a yummy recipe for peanut butter popcorn balls. Then decorate with different candies to be a snowman or snow woman.
Literature: Here are some books about snowmen
Stranger in the woods–Carl R. Sam

Music: The most famous is “Frosty”
Poetry: This is a fun one by Shel Silverstein
I made myself a snowball, as perfect as could be
I thought I”d keep it as a pet, and let it sleep with me,
I made it some pajamas and a pillow for its head,
Then last night it ran away but first-it wet the bed.
Story Starter: There was going to be a snowman contest in the neighborhood. Dylan and Daisy wanted to enter. They didn’t know what to do to make their snowman special. They thought and thought.

Chubby Little Snowman
A chubby little snowman had a carrot for a nose
Along came a bunny and what do you suppose?
That hungry little bunny was looking for his lunch. . .
And he ate that snowman’s nose. . . Cr. . r. . unch!
I’m a Little Snowman (sung to “I’m a little Teapot”)
I”m a little snow-person short and fat.
Here are my buttons here is my hat.
When the sun comes out I cannot play
I just slowly melt away.
