Activities: Duck, Duck, Goose
This is a popular game where all participants sit in a circle. The person chosen as “it” goes around the circle tapping each person on the head saying”duck”. After a few ducks “it” taps a person and says,”goose” and starts running. The goose gets up and chases “it”, trying to tag “it” before reaching the space where “goose” was sitting. If Goose is successful in tagging , the game goes on as it was. If Goose is unsuccessful “goose” Becomes “it”, and the game goes on.

Music: Five Little Ducks
Five Little ducks went out to play (hold up five fingers)
Over the hills and far away (hold hand to eyebrows)
Mother duck said “Quack, quack, quack” (motion quack with your hand)
Four little ducks came waddling back.
Continue to count down until there are no little ducks; then sing:
No little ducks went out to play, over the hills and far away.
Father duck went “Quack, quack, quack”
Five little ducks came waddling back.
Story Starter:
Dylan an Damon were walking home. Dylan was carrying a small box. Damon asked what was in the box. Dylan said It was his ducks that he was going to raise for his spring project. He opened the box and showed his friend the three ducklings– yellow, black and brown.
Extras: Six Little Ducks
Six little ducks that I once knew,
fat ones, skinny ones, fair ones, too.
But the one little duck with the feather on his back,
He led the others with a “Quack, quack,quack;
quack,quack,quack; quack,quack, quack”
He led the others with a quack, quack, quack.
Down to the river they would go,
wibble,wobble, wibble,wobble to and fro.
But the one little duck with the feather on his back
He led the others with the quack, quack quack
quack,quack,quack,quack,quack,quack.
He led the others with the quack, quack, quack.
On this blog I post fun ideas for children’s gatherings. These can be used for school, Scout or church groups, parties, camps, or any other gathering of children. I use different themes and provide ideas for food, crafts, activities, literature and decorations all on a specific theme. Where possible I make suggestions for age adjustments. There will also be a continuing story on the same theme. I will start the story and invite you to continue it with a sentence or paragraph. The theme will change periodically.
