Bunnies

February 1, 2020 by Jason Earrame

Activities:  The bunny hop is always fun this time of year. I have found the music on several cds.

Crafts: Bunny Ears are popular. This is the easiest way I have found to make them.  Use a two inch strip construction paper ( your choice of colors) Fit it to the child’s head and staple it in a circle to fit. Have the child draw and cut out the  two ears. Staple or glue them to the band.

Decorations: Since carrots are bunnies favorite food, make a carrot for decorating the table by making cone from orange paper. Put  green tissue  in the cone to make the leaves. Each person can make one to decorate the table.

Food:  Bunny buns

2 1/2 to three cups all purpose flour

2tablespoons sugar

1 package (1/4 ounce)dry yeast

1 teaspoon salt

1cup(8 ounces) sour cream

1/4 cup water

2 tablespoons butter

1 egg

Put the butter, the sour cream and water in a small saucepan and heat, but do not cook. Cool to tepid then add the remaining ingredients. Knead. If thick add more water. Let rise until double in size. Cut into 16 equal parts.  Shape to round or egg shape. cut dough with scissors to shape ears. poke eyes with chopstick or sharp stick. You may stick pepper corn in if you like. Place on baking tray lined with baking paper. Bake at 375 for about 10 minutes or until golden brown.

One hopped away and then there were four.

Four little bunnies under  a tree;

Two little bunnies resting in the sun;

One hopped away and then there was one.

One little bunny left all alone;
